Rambling House podcasts

The home of Irish storytelling

Irish storytelling, jokes, yarns, recitals, songs, historical examinations and eyewitness accounts of times past are all now available online and anywhere in the world to a whole new audience! Welcome to the Rambling House podcasts; no matter where you are, we want you to be there in a rambling house with us, if not on the night, then at some stage. Before the invasion of TV and the Internet, rambling houses served as the epicentres of entertainment and education for the folk of Ireland. With these podcasts, also available in the iTunes podcast section, we hope to bring you the highlights of each of the episodes recorded and allow you to hear Irish storytelling at its very best and from the hidden gem that is Inishowen, at the very northern tip of Ireland.

A sample of each of the recorded episodes of Rambling House is available below. Further details on each is available by either clicking on the link below. These podcasts may need to be clicked upon then paused to allow the bar download the content. When the bar has filled up, the recording is ready. Alternatively, go to the iTunes podcasts section and type in “Rambling House” where all episodes should come up and play without a problem.

Any feedback or help in understanding the words used or accents, please feel free to email us at info@ramblinghouse.ie. We’re keen to expand this series around Ireland so if you can help make this happen, then we’d love to hear from you. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy this cyber trip down memory lane.
